Overnight Care

Our Overnight Care Service helps service users feel safe and secure throughout the night, resulting in restful sleep and a healthy wellbeing.

We offer two different overnight services: sleep-in night and waking night care. Both services are tailored to people’s person centred care needs.

For people who need extra support, additional help from night time carers can mean the world of difference. Without a comfortable and unbroken night’s sleep, remaining independent can become more difficult, which is why you may want to consider our night care services.

Sleep-in Night Care Service

Sleeping night care reassures those who require minimal assistance during the night and wish to remain in their own home that they aren’t alone and have the care and support they require.

This service provides one or more night time carer/s sleeping at the property for a minimum of eight hours. The carer/s will expect to get a reasonable night’s sleep but is on hand if required. This option will be best for anyone who doesn’t require regular support but may feel uncomfortable when left alone throughout the night. If the carer has to get up more than twice during the night, then it will be considered a waking night. This is also helpful for those who deal with mobility problems or anxiety issues, and who may require some reassurance of a night time worker.

Waking Night Care Service

This is helpful for those who require frequent, hands-on care throughout the night. This service provides one or more night time carer/s remaining awake all night. The carer/s are on duty throughout the night and for a minimum of eight hours, but this is flexible. This may be the best option for anyone who wakes several times throughout the night needing support. This option may also be the best support for someone who wakes at regular intervals during the night to change position due to injury, pressure sore, or if there is a need to administer medication at regular intervals throughout the night.

Some of the person centred tasks provided by the service are:

  • Personal care
  • Toileting Support
  • Medication Support
  • Welfare Visits
  • Turning support
  • End of Life Support
  • Confidence & Independence support
  • Comfort for those with progressive conditions
  • ‘Specialised techniques’ e.g PEG feed, Stoma care, Catheter care
